Director of Bands

Mr. Caleb Foote 

Mr. Foote, a native of Davie County, NC. His passion for music started at a young age, and developed in middle and high when he joined the school band playing tuba. The teachings of Mr. Foote’s middle and high school band directors (Jason Whitaker, Holli Nelson, and Quincy Lundy) as well as the Moravian Church have been a source of inspiration and encouragement as he has grown as a musician. Mr. Foote graduated from Walkertown High School in the first graduating class of the re-established Walkertown High in 2014, and served as the first co-drum major of the marching band. Following high school, Mr. Foote attended Winston-Salem State University where he studied music education and tuba under Dr. Brent Harvey. During his tenure at WSSU, Mr. Foote performed with the University Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Low Brass Ensemble, and the Symphonic Band. Mr. Foote also performed solo and accompanied tuba at numerous conferences and competitions, including The National Band Directors Consortium and The Intercollegiate Music Association Conference. In 2017, Mr. Foote won the Intercollegiate Music Association Recital Competition Scholarship for tuba solo. Mr. Foote is in his fifth year of teaching at McMichael High.
